My relationship with food
In my past, I had a lot of fear around food. When I was first diagnosed I didn’t want to eat anything that wasn’t soft, puréed, or mashed potatoes. I found the less I ate, the less I had to worry about running to the bathroom and that was comforting.
Over time I realized my relationship with food wasn’t healthy. After all, I associated it with pain, anger, and the death of my bowels. 💜 I wanted to change this. After years of avoiding trigger foods and anything new that may affect my IBD, I took it upon myself to learn how to cook.
