Every 5 weeks, I receive infusions of Inflectra. After my infusions, I almost always experience fatigue. Many of you IBDers out there know how the fatigue world works. It’s not fun due to the lack of energy and can be especially difficult when coming home from a hospital visit.
After 10 years of infusions, I’ve learned a few ways to cope with post-infusion fatigue:
– Resting is important! Take a nap or curl up in a blanket and binge-watch Netflix
– Don’t forget to hydrate the day of your infusion because if you’re dehydrated, you’ll likely feel even more drained afterward
– Plan for low-energy tasks or none at all on infusion days. Taking it easy is okay to do and you shouldn’t feel guilty about it
